1.LAKME FASHION WEEK

Lakme Fashion Week also known as  LFW is a national fashion event that is organized in Mumbai.Its is a bi-annual Indian fashion event. The first show – Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort takes place in February and the second event Lakme Fashion Week Winter Event takes place in August.LFW has been conceived and created with a vision to “Redefine the future of fashion and Integrate India into the global fashion world”.

The most prominent of all the top 10 fashion shows of India, LFW is controlled by Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) and has been sponsored by Lakme since it’s inception.India enjoyed their first ever fashion show back in August 1999 at Delhi, Taj Palace. Since it was the first national event, country’s leading designers had geared up for the show.Today the Lakme Fashion Week is the most popular Indian fashion event, thanks to the combined efforts of  designers such as Manish Malhotra,Vikram Phadnis, Sabyasachi and Rocky S to name a few, who have managed to amalgamate Bollywood and fashion on a single runway.

2.Amazon Fashion Week

Amazon Fashion week previously known as Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Weekis held at  Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Just like Lakme Fashion Week,AFW is also a bi-annual event showcasing both summer and winter collections respectively.

The bi-annual prêt weeks for women’s wear is run by FDCI and is sponsored by Amazon India (previously by Wills Lifestyle) and was established a year later in 2000 after LFW.While the Autumn-Winter is held in March, the month of October celebrates their Spring Summer show.

AFW is an all-encompassing fashion event, exhibiting works by eminent designers including Rohit Bal, Tarun Tahiliani, Guari & Nainika, Alpana & Neeraj, Janavi, Nikasha, Joy Mitra and Amit Aggarwal to name a few. It is considered one of the top fashion events of the country and is a great opportunity for budding designers to showcase their talent.

A coveted list of 100 plus designers established and and the emerging future talent, will showcase their ingenuity through their trend forecasts for the season ahead, by way of 31 runway shows and 101 exhibit stalls, which will see the spirit of India encapsulated through the prism of a contemporary lexicon.

Fashion Design Council of India, the apex body of fashion, alongwith its title sponsor Amazon.in and associate partner Maybelline New York has support form Fitbit, Boroline, Liva, Pearl Academy, Elle and Raw Pressery in bringing to life the unparalleld trade platform .

Amazon India Fashion Week in assocition with Maybelline New York Autumn Winter 2016 will bring together a plethora of professionals from diverse fields: choreographers, make-up and hair artists, stylists, bloggers and media professionals and fashionistas who will help derive a new template of design for the upcoming season.
