The magic of Alteration & Design Change, Part-6

Let’s be honest! we all have piles of old clothes lying in out closet, taking up much of the closet space, and we end up cribbing that our closet is not big enough rather than getting rid of those mountains of discarded clothes. But has it ever occurred to you that you can create a whole new garment or product by recycling that old T-shirt or denim jeans of yours? This way you get to keep t and even use them and the best part is there is no guilt of having a huge stash of unused clothes.

Today Fancyana is here with great ideas on how you can re-use your old clothes and make interesting products for yourself, your family and friends and this way you get to re-cycle too and help the environment. It’s a win-win situation…!!

USING OUR OLD T-SHIRT

So, the most common of the products lying around un-used are old t-shirts and they are the easiest to re-use. You can make tank tops, summer dresses, bags, scarfs, shrugs, vests, skirts etc.

The latest trend with T-shirt is the T-shirt cutting and twisting in different designs to give it a new fresh look.

SUMMER DRESS

A T-shirt can be converted in to a trendy summer dress by cutting off the side sleeves and the neck of the shirt, the cut sleeves will become the top of the dress and the large chunk of T-shirt left will become the base.

DENIM JEANS

Jeans by far the best clothes that can be reused, one of my favorites. you can do so much with a jeans, as the fabric is sturdier than a shirt or a T-shirt , its easier to stitch and use. it all depends on your creative mind on what to do with your old pair of jeans, you can recycle it into cute waistcoats and crop jackets or you can covert a it into an A-line skirt or a skirt with frills or long skirts or shorts for those summer days.

“TWISTED”

If  you do not want to completely transform your jeans into a different product and want to pep them up from the usual boring style, you can use various fabrics to match your jeans and give the tear jeans a new definition. one can also experiment with lace and patchwork.
